severence

i'm back from the adirondacks

i was at my parents house for one night

my brother was packing for college

a friend and i watched seinfeld, drank beer, then went to "tropic thunder"

then we watched more seinfeld and i drank a mountain dew

hudson river music

when the feeling feels the same

it's dull

let it happen more

over an area of vertical square mile

a cubed mile

saturday

we're leaving for paradox lake camp

we're leaving for the great range

monday we'll be returning

8.11.2008

monday

no ambition

air conditioner

thunder

kind of gray

8.10.2008

fan-wind, mop-glow

i didn't eat anything today

then i ate too much

i will help you move some things in your apartment

there's another person in the room

and i don't know things

escaping alcetraz

i see a pencil, a phone, a computer screen, other things, some keys, a styrofoam square with a face on it, a camera plugged into a monitor.

i hear the voice of a narrator on the ANIMAL CHANNEL's 'Most Extreme Countdown',
my chair clicking and squeaking when i move in it, and sometimes voices outside of the room and their footsteps.

i feel the counter, the keys of the keyboard, the air of the room, and the chair pushing against the weight of my body.

snow covers my town

i stand at the window

someone kicks the 30 case of beer
on the kitchen counter

inhales the last of his cigarette

i take a beer and open it, so does the person

later, we're throwing darts and the room fills with smoke

someone's sitting on the couch watching baseball
two people are playing darts, walking back and forth
in front of the tv the person is watching baseball on

i look out the window
three girls walk through a snow covered parking lot
towards the bars

solitaire

my skin feels hot then cold, hot then cold

the cleaning woman twists a garbage bag

in the doorway, we smile at each other

i think about shoveling snow at my parents house
