starts at morning

i have kelty tools

plenty of lumber

i'm pacing the grass,
the sound of work,

on my house going up

9.03.2008

screwdrivers

i didn't slide my fingers through my hair full of shampoo

i woke up and ate pb&j, did laundry,
and removed my AC

last summer

when the marinara sauce
spit on to the white stove top,
you swayed your flower skirt
across the field
under the tall trees,
holding his hand.
it didn't matter that
your Latvian cousin had attractive
hair, he couldn't
laugh the same.
i go away from the dock
down the beaten, bouncing
trail; the shore tree's
roots spring.
the water makes chilled sounds
up out of the shades.

'these'

'Gustav' morphed from a 'tropical storm' into a 'hurricane'

i have a 'hopeless' feeling that feels 'good'

8.28.2008

improvement

i think i owe the brooklyn public library $30 dollars
i have more than $1000

i see two men in 'vacation' shirts looking at a folded subway map
one of them puts a 'glamour' magazine away in his bag

the gowanus canal looks blue/green with rust stains

one of the men looked at me

breathless

the menus sleep

i think of mature trees.
they grew into parents.

my whiskey condensed
through the mason jar

the qualifiers bury themselves
in the sand
then burst free

a hedge dies in the mist
navigate the bottle

the bar ended on a bridge
a little more bar after the bridge

whatever

escaped in fear
perished in mud

out of the fudge,
they were groundless.

the pebble in the back
painted the mouth carmine.

looking at the dried mouth,
he felt the 'sometimes'

looking down,
the steel ring pushes up
along his shins and knees.

sunday night,
he took and passed the test
in his boxers.
wishing sweat wasn't
a green galaxy of love

untitled

the avocado sitting in the plastic bag
the bread in there dries out a little

a grey squirrel waits

going briefly toward the pink house

the full spectrum
exhumes the hooks

look at the sun setting behind new jersey
from the roof

last night

last night i went grocery shopping and spent $38.88

when i got back to the apartment, i drank one 16oz. can of budweiser,
two glasses of 'tropical punch', ate 1/5 of a block of mozzarella, and 4 slices of bread.

i shopped for a 42" inch plasma flatscreen.

then cupped my open lab-top in my arm, with the ear-plugs in my ears and plugged in to the front of the lab-top, and moved in to my bedroom to lie on my bed. i lay on my side with two pillows under my right ear.

first i watched 'lord of the rings: the fellowship of the ring' on justin.tv. then i watched 'the terminal' with tom hanks.

then i went to a different site and started 'mirrors', the bootleg version, starring keifer sutherland.

i started falling asleep 4 minutes into 'mirrors'. my first dream was of me diving into the water off a marina dock in to a lake. the second dream was of an orange smashing a hole through my heart as i lay in my bed.

8.21.2008

today

i took a camera and tripod

two blocks

i asked a person what happened

one said, 'a cop fell from the overpass and got hit by a car'

another man said, 'i don't know you should ask them'

'he got hit by a car'

'i want to know if he got shot over there and walked to the corner
and fell down'

'it was quiet and i found him in the pool of blood'

'maybe these construction workers saw something'

'it's all on these cameras'

the person at work said, 'you can head back now'.

***

i was running in the park and saw two men leaning over something.

as i passed them, i saw they were rubbing something fury.

i asked them if it was a cat.

the one standing up said, 'yeah.'

the one leaning over it said, 'no, it's a rabbit.'
